Gundam Review: HG IBO 1/144 Mobile suit option set 5 and Tekkadan Mobile worker

A quick follow up to my previous review. If you haven't seen that yet, click here:

Long story short, I had to get this to complete the Barbatos Lupus' look and its really worth getting. I got this from another local hobby store... I actually forgot the name XD But it's cool that they're the only that have it on stock and last piece too!

Let's dive right in!

Box art:

A small box, close to a usual SD kit. Shows the items you'll get and the respective kits you can use them on.

Manual:

A one page back to back instruction with a very easy to understand layout. Most of the assembly is pretty straightforward and it again shows the suggested MS use the items on.

It's nice that they include english instructions with their recent releases.

Runners:

It couldn't get any simpler than that. It's all in one color but it's nice of Bandai to give us foil stickers for the hand covers. Throw that now. You can use the existing hand covers of the Barbatos Lupus.

200mm Caliber gun:

As I said, it's a no brainer assembly.

Twin mace:

Cute versions of the Orignal Barabatos mace.

Long rifle/Buster sword:

These are meant for the enemy MS but I gave it to my Astaroth haha

Open hands:

Seriously, they could easily include this in the Barbatos Lupus kit.

Tekkadan Mobile worker/Joint parts:

The mobile worker is a nice addition for people who make dioramas. Maybe they'll give us a mobile worker set someday.

That joint part can also be easily included in the Barbatos Lupus kit, it's so small... It wouldn't take too much space.

Posing:

Buster sword:

Buster sword goes well with the Astaroth. I don't need to buy the Renascimento anymore haha!

200mm Caliber gun:

The guns really complete the look of this Gundam. This is the first reason why you get this set. He looks more badass with it.

They can rotate easily when in use. My only problem is that it made the forearms more bulky so it might collide with other parts when posing.

Twin mace:

A great substitute for the original mace Barbatos used to have. Now compact in size and you get two of them!

I never thought I would enjoy posing Lupus with dual wielding weapons.

Open hands:

The second reason why you buy this set. That open hand adds more dynamic posing options for the lupus. As I said in my previous review. He uses his hands a lot as weapons too so it's weird that they didn't include this in the beginning.

Joint part:

The joint part has two connections, one peg and one clip. The peg can be use to mount the 200mm Caliber gun giving the Lupus an over the shoulder gun. Cool.

Other miscellaneous poses. I just realized that this set is basically about a certain episode. LOL!

Where's the long rifle you ask? Well, I got lazy to use it. I didn't really like it that much haha! But yeah, it's a nice gun with a moving handle. Good for customs!

Verdict 9/10:

I'll just go straight to the verdict since it's just an option set. This set caters mostly to Barbatos Lupus and you're getting this because you own Barbatos Lupus or you just want extra parts for custom builds.

It's worth buying since most weapons included can be used by various MS. I wish they gave us two of those joint parts just to balance things out. It's good that most of these things really have a default gray color the only painting you need to do are the hands for the Lupus and the mobile worker.

I didn't really bother with the mobile worker but it's a nice addition nonetheless.

So why not a perfect score? As I said in my previous review, these things can be easily included in their respective kits but Bandai decided to sell them separately.

Then again, I'f you're a custom builder, these things are kinda handy and you don't have to buy an entire kit just to get small pieces.

I hope you enjoyed the short but concise review.
