What is up everyone? How was Christmas for everybody? I hope you guys got the gifts you wanted!
Sorry for not posting much, was out for a few days during Christmas time haha! I do have some pics on my instagram on what I've up to!
Here's one of them, a Christmas themed photo hahaha!
Now onto some updates on what I'm up to, backlogs, on-going builds etc...
First, my Christmas Hauls:
Yup, A Perfect Grade! This is practically my dream kit since I started this hobby in 2011. I always look at this majestic piece every time I chance upon it in a hobby shop.
I figured the time is right to purchase this bad boy! Still thinking if I'll paint it, probably default colors, I don't wanna go too extravagant on it to preserve its classic design.
Still mustering up the courage to start it though hahaha! It's quite overwhelming, it's a different feeling from getting an MG/HG kit.
Maybe I'll do an unboxing post for it first.
Next up is the recently shown kit along with the PG Exia. The Cherudim Gundam Saga Type. GBF. As a huge Gundam 00 and Lockon fan, this was an instant buy for me. I'm glad this suit is getting the same attention as the main MS of the show.
It's pretty much the counterpart of the 00 Seven swords but with guns and I love guns haha! Whats good about this kit is that it also comes with parts to make the actual cherudim but the color is different haha!
Anyway, can't wait to get this all built up.
Kit Hauls is done, so off to my backlogs..
If you guys have been following this blog for a long time then you've probably seen these kits already haha! I still haven't build them because I waited until I have my own airbrush...
Soooo.... I got an airbrush hahaha! It was a hand me down from my Mom who used it before in cake decorating. I'm still learning the basics but its waaaay better than spray cans.
Speaking of Airbrush..
I met a guy who makes his own paint line! His creations are awesome! They're lacquer based paints that are already pre-thinned meaning you just put it in your AB and spray away! It's very beginner friendly!
And the finish? Damn, it's so smooth! No sanding required! It settles really well on the plastic considering you primed your pieces haha!
Anyway, they recently released their basic colors (the ones on the left.) and they're slowly expanding their library.
They were famous for their metallics (on the right.) because you get the finish in one spray instead of doing multiple layers to achieve a certain finish.
Seriously, go check their page:
They have samples of their paint on some kits! But trust me, the finishes are way better in person. I dunno if they ship internationally though... They're mainly here in the Philippines.
This is good for the local beginners in airbrushing and since not everyone has the resources to order other brands from other countries.
Lastly... Ongoing builds? Well, if you're following me in instagram, then you probably have an idea what I'm busy with haha!
I got this kit same time as the HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Revive. I only had time recently to get it started.
So yeah, this is my first attempt at doing a paint job... All I can say is that it's very stressful @_@ The process is long but the experience is worth it.
I wish I did this when I started, makes you appreciate the models more. For this build, I mainly use spray cans (Tamiya and Mr. Hobby.) mainly for experience and I haven't met the paint guy yet hahaha!
Anyway, spray cans suck... They're hard to control and they cost too much. One can is good enough for one kit... depends how big the kits is but the amount of paint that comes out in each burst is just too much and cost inefficient.
Anyway, long story short, I'm still enjoying the process haha! I'm still not done with the kit though, still need to do some final detailing, decals and weathering.
So that's all folks haha! Excited to finish this model, and stay tuned for more news, updates and reviews!
